My My Christmas Sleepout

MYMY volunteers slept out for 2 nights outside Around A Pound on Newcastle, Main Street in order to raise vital funds to keep the MYMY House open. While most are tucked up in a warm bed our brave volunteers faced the elements from the shorefront.

MYMY would like to say a MASSIVE, MASSIVE thank you to everyone who donated to our Sleep Out over the weekend. £2,600.54 was raised over the 2 days. The generosity of the people of Newcastle and district was once again second to none…  Thank you to those who put money into our buckets and those who gave through the Just Giving page.  The support of our local community is key to keeping the MYMY House open and we cannot thank you enough.

A special thank you also to Around A Pound for letting us take up position outside their store, Savoy Café for keeping us in coffee throughout the weekend and to Docs for the chips and tea. To AJC and everyone involved with the Christmas Tree light-up for their support in getting the message out that we were on the street.

And last but in no way least a huge thank you to all of our MYMY Volunteers who braved the elements; Damien Russell, Head Elf, Cillion Moran, Elf 1 and Peter McAtamney the Minion for enduring the whole night on the street and a special mention to volunteers, Teresa McKee, Ryan Ross, Margaret Brannigan, Hugh Devlin, Jamie McKee, Mr and Mrs Russell, Sile McLean, Zara and Rex the dog who did his best to keep us all warm.

Thank you again everyone…
