The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust is an independent grant-making charitable fund supporting organisations and charities within the UK.
The Charity Survival Fund was conceived because of The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust’s concern about the economic impact of Covid-19 and the concomitant actions taken to limit its spread. Many charities are facing a precipitous drop in income at the same time as demand for their services increases.
The trust therefore pledged a total of £10 million to provide core funding for UK charities and were overwhelmed by the volume of requests: over 2,600 applications were received from charities across the UK, representing a total request value of some £174 million.
All applications were carefully reviewed over the summer, with the support and expertise of the trust’s charity office. In view of the clear need, as well as the quality of applications received, the trust have decided to increase the amount they are giving via the Charity Survival Fund, up to a total of £18 million.
We are delighted to say that MYMY’s application to The Charity Survival Fund has been successful and we were recently awarded a grant of £10,000 from the Charity Survival Fund.
We hope that the funds will help meet some of our core running costs over the challenging months ahead, in order that MYMY may continue to deliver our charitable work within the local community.
